Hearts for Heroes: The Joined Hands Project 🤝

A new effort has been popping up around town thanks Giana Aguilar Gomez, who wanted to do something simple but meaningful for people experiencing homelessness. She started what’s now called The Joined Hands Project, and the idea is all about compassion, packing and handing out blessing bags filled with everyday essentials like socks, bottled water, snacks, hygiene items, and even dog food.
This year, the bags will be given out on Veterans Day to include unhoused veterans who could use a reminder that their community sees them, cares about them, and hasn’t forgotten them. It’s the kind of project that shows how one person’s idea can ripple into something bigger. Neighbors reaching out, pitching in, and proving again that small acts of kindness can add up to real change. 💙
