A Familiar Taste Lives On 🍔🍽

If you’ve been missing the beloved Purple Place and its memorable menu favorites, you might be in for a pleasant surprise. I recently saw a post from neighbor Charlie Hunt sharing that one of their former chefs, Luis, is now cooking just down the road at the Folsom Tap House. Many of the Purple Place classics have found a new home there, alongside a Sunday brunch menu and house-made dishes prepared entirely from scratch. Luis is also known for his standout cheesecakes, which can even be ordered for special occasions.
The post sparked plenty of nostalgic memories and food tips from neighbors—some recommending Poor Red’s in El Dorado (run by the Purple Place’s former operators) and others reminding us that El Dorado County is full of talented chefs worth supporting. Whether it’s rediscovering old favorites or trying something new, the conversation was a warm reminder that our community’s food scene has deep roots and plenty of flavor. 💖
