Neighbors Rally for Unhoused Man and His Dog 🚨

One of the stories that’s been getting a lot of attention came from a post by a local named Kenneth Hogue. He saw an older guy named Billy Ruiz and his dog Jackson sitting behind the Rocket gas station on Green Valley—no camper, no shelter, just a folding chair. His camper had apparently been towed by the sheriff’s office, and now he was stuck there with nothing.

Instead of just driving by, Kenneth gave Billy and Jackson a ride to a safer spot and came back with a blanket, pillow, and some dog food. After that, more people started showing up to help—dropping off gift cards, supplies, and sharing ideas like starting a GoFundMe or getting local outreach involved.

Some comments were frustrated with how the situation was handled, but a lot of people kept it positive—focusing on what they could do right now to help. A few neighbors even said they’d check in on Billy again and try to keep the support going.

It was one of those moments that reminded everyone how much heart this town really has. When someone’s down, people here step up. 💖
