Check Your Freezer: Pasta Recall Linked to Illnesses

— by Leo C.

A recent nationwide food recall has expanded, and it’s essential for our community to be aware. Prepared pasta meals from brands like Nate’s, Scott & Jon’s, and others, sold at major retailers including Walmart, Trader Joe’s, and Kroger, have been linked to a Listeria outbreak. This serious contamination has, tragically, been connected to hospitalizations and deaths.

The most critical step is to check your freezer. While many recalled items are past their "use-by" date, some, like certain shrimp scampi bowls, have dates as far out as March 2027 and could still be in our homes. If you find any recalled products, the CDC advises discarding them immediately. It’s also important to thoroughly clean any surfaces, containers, or shelves the food may have touched, as Listeria can persist and spread in your refrigerator.

This situation is a sobering reminder of the importance of food safety. Staying informed about recalls is a simple but powerful way to protect the health of our families and neighbors. Read the full story here →
