Lil City Voices | Real Talk

🚨 Why Knowing CPR Truly Matters ⛑️

by Leo C.

Unexpected cardiac arrest can, and does happen anywhere, anytime. Each year in the U.S., over 350,000 people suffer sudden cardiac arrest outside hospitals, and tragically, only about 10% survive because help often arrives too late. Studies consistently show that immediate, high-quality CPR can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival, particularly when combined with an AED. Yet despite its proven effectiveness, only 40% of cardiac arrest victims receive bystander CPR, often due to a lack of training, confidence, or simply not knowing what to do. This gap highlights an urgent need: the more people like your neighbors know how to act, the stronger our chain of survival becomes

So what holds most people back from learning CPR? Is it cost, time, or hesitancy about making mistakes? If you’ve ever wondered whether to sign up or hesitated thinking “I don’t need it”, what would make you feel ready to give it a try? Even short, hands‑on workshops can boost both skill and confidence, helping ordinary people become everyday heroes.

I came across Cryolab EDH's Hands of Hope FREE CPR Classes on August 4 and August 15. Ultimately, when someone collapses and immediate action is required, those trained in CPR make the difference. Let's remember that even a brief hands-on session can transform hesitation into readiness—and potentially save a life. ❤️‍🩹
