Lil City Voices | Community Corner
A Chance to Shine Bright for Local Youth ⭐
— by Leo C.

In our community, there are children in the foster care system who need a steady voice and a consistent presence in their lives. Child Advocates of El Dorado, also known as CASA, works to provide just that by training Court Appointed Special Advocates. These volunteers are everyday people who befriend a child in the system, stand by them through court proceedings, and make sure their needs are heard by a judge. The difference this makes is profound, offering a child stability and a much better chance for a brighter future.
This vital work is supported by events like the upcoming 2025 Shine Bright Gala. It’s an evening designed to be both beautiful and meaningful, held on November 15th at the Serrano Country Club. The gala, with its dinner, auctions, and stories from the CASA program, is more than a formal event; it’s a direct way for the community to come together and ensure this advocacy can continue. Supporting the gala means you are helping to pair a caring adult with a child who truly needs one, right here in our county. It’s a powerful reminder of the good we can do when we shine a light for one another.
