Beating the Morning Drag: My Back-to-School Blueprint 🏫

— by Leo C.

Summer’s last sunrise woke me up at 6:30 AM like a neon sign screaming, “School starts in two days”—and that tiny thrill of a fresh start is already running through my veins. With Wednesday marking Day One of this brand-new school year, I’ve sketched out a straightforward plan to swap lazy mornings for energized classes (without crashing by lunch).

First up, I’ve banned myself from anything past 10:30 PM, no more late-night gaming marathons or YouTube deep dives. That extra half-hour of sleep makes all the difference when the alarm clock yanks me out of bed at dawn. To shake off the summer cobwebs, I’m spending ten minutes each evening revisiting last year’s notes, just enough to remind myself that I remember more math and science than I feared.

But I’m not turning into a bookworm overnight. I’ve carved out quick “reset” breaks—rolling on the BJJ mat until I’m dripping sweat, jotting down thoughts in my journal, or stepping outside for a blast of fresh air. Those mini-breathers keep me sharp and give me something fun to look forward to between study sessions.

Here’s my strategy for week one: reset my clock, reboot my brain, and remember that even as summer fades, there’s always room for a little “me time.” If I can pull this off, Friday afternoon won’t just feel like the end of a long week—it’ll feel like a win. 💪
