Lil City Voices | Community Corner
A Spin on the Ice That Warms the Community ⛸️
— by Leo C.

Gliding across the ice at the Historic Folsom Ice Rink comes with a chance to do something meaningful for our community. The rink has chosen three local nonprofits for its "Donate & Skate" days, turning an afternoon of fun into a direct act of support for neighbors in need.
Each event is a unique opportunity. In November, your skate helps Powerhouse Ministries in their work to transform lives affected by poverty and homelessness. In December, your ticket supports Twin Lakes Food Bank in their mission to fight hunger, and in January, you’re helping the Sweet Dreams Foundation bring comfort to families with children facing serious illness. For each ticket, $4 goes straight to these organizations, proving that small actions can create a big wave of good.
It’s more than just a donation; it’s a connection. These groups will be there at the rink, sharing stories of their impact. It’s a reminder that the community spirit is built when people step up to help. So lace up your skates—this is a chance to create a little winter magic for yourself and for others who need it most.
